Circuform – A Circular Design Vision Enters the pCon Community
With its strong commitment to true circular design, the Dutch label Circuform enriches our network with furniture that is not only aesthetically timeless but built from the ground up for a world without waste. For our users – interior designers, architects, and all professionals working with configurable product data – Circuform brings an inspiring new dimension of sustainable, future-oriented planning.
Circuform’s philosophy is clear: every product should remain part of the material cycle. To achieve this, their furniture is constructed from as few material types as possible, all fully separable, so every component can be repaired, replaced, or ultimately recycled. Some models are even manufactured entirely from 100% recycled plastics. With a deposit-return system that closes the loop, Circuform takes full responsibility for the entire lifecycle of its products. This commitment results in furniture that is durable, comfortable, and exceptionally low in environmental footprint—an ideal match for professionals designing with responsibility in mind.
Within the pCon ecosystem, Circuform’s catalogue begins with two distinctive seating families: Kwart and Rex, both now available as fully configurable OFML® data.
Kwart is a lightweight, robust chair made from recycled polypropylene collected from post-consumer waste streams. Its injection-molded construction reduces material use without compromising strength, giving Kwart one of the lowest ecological footprints in its category. The chair’s stackable design makes it a flexible choice for dynamic environments such as cafeterias, educational spaces, terraces, or modern work settings. True to Circuform’s mission, Kwart can be returned after use and reintroduced into the production cycle, ensuring that the material never becomes waste but a resource for future products.
Rex, available with or without armrests, carries a different yet equally compelling story. Originally designed by Ineke Hans and reimagined through a fully circular lens, Rex is produced from recycled nylon reclaimed from diverse post-industrial and post-consumer sources, including discarded office furniture and fishing nets. Every part of the chair can be separated and recycled, enabling a transparent and efficient material cycle. Rex has also gained recognition as the first deposit chair in the Netherlands: users can return their chair at any time—regardless of its condition—and receive a deposit refund. Returned chairs are either repaired for reuse or fully recycled, reinforcing Circuform’s pioneering position in circular furniture design.
