The countdown is on – Planner Day is just around the corner! Here is a closer look at what participants can expect in this edition based on the theme Aesthetics meets responsibility — interior in transition.
On March 12, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, the doors of Design Post Cologne open for a full day exploring one of the most important topics today: environmental commitment in interior design.
Aesthetics meets responsibility: How can we create spaces that are both beautiful and sustainable?
Great design today is no longer only about visuals and function; it is about values and responsible resources with long-term impacts. Planner Day brings together interior designers, architects, and design professionals for an interactive experience about materiality and acoustics in hospitality design, with sustainability as a main principle.
Organized in cooperation with pCon and trend expert Gudy Herder, the event will combine inspiration and active learning about real planning tools used in daily practice. The pCon workshop is also supported by Wegscheider Office Solution, adding practical experience.
The audience will discover how responsible choices in materials and planning can enhance aeshetics and project quality.
Spotlight on the keynote: Trendsperienced® – Material trends of the future
The day begins with a keynote by Gudy Herder, founder of Eclectic Trends, an agency specializing in interior design and lifestyle insights. She will present three major material trends that make tomorrow’s interiors and show how these are turned into real design applications, color palettes, and material solutions that professionals can use in their projects.
Participants will take part in an interactive session where sustainability becomes practical, exploring the following elements:
- Cactus leather.
- Recycled ocean plastics.
- Cement alternatives.
- Materials from potato starch, eggshells, or nutshells.
Attendees will then collaborate in small groups to come up with design ideas.
Sustainable planning workshop with pCon
During the second part of Planner Day, pCon will demonstrate what sustainability truly means in the context of spatial planning.
While environmentally friendly materials play an important role, conscious workflows help save time, reduce friction, and use resources effectively throughout the entire planning process.
Using real manufacturer data from the pCon platform, participants will explore how digital tools can support circular thinking and ethical design decisions in everyday practice. The workshop will highlight how structured product information, reusable planning elements, and intelligent data access can make planning more transparent and future oriented.
Planners will then discover how to work smarter by:
- Building on existing concepts instead of starting from scratch
- Accessing all relevant details and certifications in one place
- Sharing results quickly and intuitively
By combining tools like pCon.catalog, pCon.planner, and mobile applications, pCon keeps the planning process environmentally conscious and optimized.
In the interactive workshop session, guests will create their own space together with six brand partners from Design Post Cologne. The focus remains on demonstrating how sustainable processes are implemented in real designing scenarios today.
The day concludes with presentations, feedback, and a come-together session.
Only 15 days left until Planner Day helps you discover the future of responsible design.
See you in Cologne!
